Obsterical Gynaecology Nursing
Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing focus on the care of women from conception to puerperium. The scope of practice includes reproductive child health, care during pregnancy, labour and puerperium including condition of normal deliveries, family welfare, and care of women with gynecological problems. The obstetric and gynecologic nursing aims the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains in the field of practice. Our focus is in improving the health and lives of women throughout the lifespan, by training the future nurses to provide comprehensive care to women and their family. We extend our exceptional care to adolescents, women and family through community health programmes and health education.
The students are enriched with clinical experience in the antenatal and postnatal wards, outpatient departments, labour room, gynecology operation theatre, gynecology wards Neonatology units and Family planning unit under the guidance of specialized faculty. The department encourages student to conduct regular research work in the areas of women’s health extending from adolescents to old age.
